A note from AIA Swimwear

When we started designing AIA, we tested everything.
Fabrics that claimed to be sustainable. Options that were easy to source. Fabrics that looked good, briefly.

Most didn’t hold up.

Under Bali’s sun, salt, sweat, chlorine, saunas, and surf — they stretched, pilled, or lost shape too quickly.
We wanted something that lasted.

We chose ECONYL®. And we’ve never looked back.

What Is ECONYL®?

ECONYL® is a regenerated nylon made in Italy, using recycled materials like:

  • Abandoned fishing nets

  • Fabric scraps

  • Industrial waste

It performs like virgin nylon, but with a lower environmental impact — and a much longer lifespan.

Why We Use It

  • Resistant to sun, chlorine, and salt

  • Keeps its sculpting shape over time

  • Doesn’t pill or wear thin

  • Dries quickly

  • Soft but supportive

  • OEKO-TEX® certified and dyed with low-impact processes

We’ve worn our earliest AIA bikinis for over three years. They still fit like day one.

The Bottom Line

We didn’t choose ECONYL® because it was trending.
We chose it because it worked. Because it still works.
Because your swimwear should hold up — in every sense.

Every AIA bikini is handmade in Bali using ECONYL® fabric. Not for a season.
But to stay.
